I never thought that my Iphone would be such a useful artistic tool. There’s a free appliation called Scribble which lets you draw with your finger on top of any photo from your camera library. Now, whenever I find myself on long boring NYC subway trips I start doodling.
The limitations of Scribble are what makes it such a cool program. With only 11 gaudy colors to choose from and a finger-paint method, you can barely refine your art. Yet this lack of precision forces you to loosen up and become free and bold. It all ends up looking like what Basquiat or what Matisse would have made in the 1980’s.
