Rush
Last night I watched the new documentary on Rush, “Beyond The Lighted Stage” and it once again reinvigorated my love for this band. If you are any sort of fan of 70’s hard rock you must rent it. It’s so thorough that it contains home movie footage of a 17 year-old Alex Lifeson trying to convince his parents to let him pursue a career in music!

Rush was the subject of the very first episode of Nite Fite, specifically, whether or not they should be considered heavy metal. I happen to agree with Penalty on this issue ;)

Future-Spy phase 4: Dialogue Lettering

In making my new comic-book “Future-Spy”, this was definitely the step I was dreading the most. It’s turned out to be just as challenging, but alot more fun than I predicted. It’s nice to get that dialogue written out and know that your script process is done. I’ll probably go back and re-letter some words, but as my friend and comic book mentor Benjamin Marra told me, “Don’t worry about making it look perfect, no one will notice if a letter looks weird once it’s shrunk down”

**oh and yes, this comic book will be ‘suggested for mature readers’. Sorry kids, the future is for adults.

I recently moved to Greenpoint, Brooklyn; a neighborhood dotted with a seemingly endless number of Polish restaurants. Since then, I’ve quickly become a borscht vampire, craving the red fluid in an insatiable manner that does not cease, even when I sleep. Brown Rainbows

With all the attention on “double rainbows” recently, let’s not forget to touch on the type of rainbow I like best: The non-rainbow colored rainbow (especially brown).

While never seen in the actual sky, these rainbows were commonplace in the graphic design of the 70’s and 80’s. I love them so much that I created a Flickr pool which you are all invited to contribute to!

L.A. Business Trip
Last month I was in Los Angeles for meetings and stuff. Here’s an extremely abridged account that doesn’t seem to actually capture any of what I did there (except for the hours spent driving through traffic in a rental car.) Look for appearances by internet stars Bobby Miller, Nick Ross, Tim Curcio, Scott Ibex, and a surprise cameo by Shae D’Lyn of “Dharma and Greg”.
