George JonesI just finished reading the autobiography of country music legend George Jones. It’s chock full of violent tales of booze and drugs. One rock-bottom anecdote that really stood out was when George was so coked out and paranoid that he couldn’t stop hearing the voice of (and soon enough talking with the voice of) an imaginary duck named Deedoodle. This almost rivals Slash being chased by Predators. I’ll say it again; stay away from the hard drugs, kids.

BuffaloJuly 1995
Somewhere in South Dakota, my friend and I drove by this here buffalo standing in a dirt road. It wasn’t a national park or anything… just some random field with (the last remaining) wild buffalo walking around. I later learned that they will charge and kill you if you’re annoying them, which I probably was as I followed it down the road.
South Dakota is a huge state but somehow we saw all this in one day: Mount Rushmore, a buffalo, Wounded Knee, The Badlands, Wall Drug, and the Corn Palace. Were days just longer back then?
